                        Name of Project : Policy Analysis and Policy Dialogue on Development and Scaling Up of Value Chain Initiatives: Findings from North Eastern and Himalayan Region in India

Description: Commiioned under the project “Regional Training Facility for Scaling up Pro-Poor Value Chains”, a collaborative project of IFAD and HELVETAS. It was a part of the Multi country study aimed at identifying policy/constraints/bottlenecks and opportunities for Value Chain Development (VCD) initiatives. The countries included in the project are Bangladesh, China, India, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam. In this study we focus on the findings from India- North Eastern Region and Himalayan States.

Name of Project : Livestock Market Study under JOHAR Project

Description: The objective of the study was to suggest specific models and interventions for value chain development of pig and goat meat markets in Jharkhand, based on actual and potential production, market assessment, and value chain studies for the two products. The market assessment provided detailed information on the current marketing channels and practices prevailing in the state; and the proposed interventions will include estimates of capital and recurring costs, as well as institutional and human resource requirements for their implementation under JOHAR.
